Assam Meleng

A rich, sweet brew with notes of malt and dark red wine. Great as a breakfast tea, it is delicious on its own or with milk.

Named for the Meleng River on the East side of the Assam region, this estate is one of the oldest active tea estates in Assam and has produced tea since 1852.

The district of Assam is in India's northeast area, low in the Himalayan foothills. Assam teas are often used in breakfast tea blends, giving them their distinctive strength. Each of our own black tea blends contains at least 30% of the finest Assam. Assams tend to be extra robust and rich, with a full-bodied, malty flavor and cloudy amber color.
