Organic Kabusecha

This is an exquisite example of an organic Japanese tea, exhibiting rich umami flavor, buttery mouthfeel, and a lovely verdant liquor.  

Kabuse means "covered" and refers to the shading of the tea plants, in this case for about a week before harvest.  The characteristics of Kabusecha are a balance between Sencha (grown in open fields) and Gyokuro (shaded for 3-4 weeks.)
